The healthy alternative

If you can’t do without the occasional bread treat or your daily eggs on bread to start the day, this recipe is a healthy alternative. Minimise your carb intake and go for a delicious power breakfast roll.

Tip: Prepare double the amount and freeze for easy preparation and lazy mornings!

Ingredients

For the dough

  • 300g        low fat curd
  • 3              eggs
  • 110g         spelt homemeal flour
  • 90g          oat bran
  • 45g          spelt bran
  • 30g          psyllium husks
  • 30g          shredded linseeds
  • 4 tsp        baking powder
  • 150ml     lukewarm water
  • 1,5 tsp     salt
  • 1 pinch    sugar

For the crust

  • 2 EL        oat bran
  • 2 EL        spelt bran
